The Heritage Av Liberdade Hotel is a 6-storey boutique property in the historic centre of Lisbon. It is housed in a restored, late-18th century building, the decoration of which was entrusted to Miguel Câncio Martins, a Portuguese architect who is renowned for his work on chic venues like the Buddha Bar in Paris and the Man Ray in New York. His design work combines sensitivity to the city's architectural traditions with the most modern technology. Even the elevator has a stone mosaic floor echoing the pavements in front of the property. The 42 guestrooms range from medium to large, and are opulently appointed with warm-toned décor, complemented by eucalyptus parquet floors, limed wood panelling and ostrich skin headboards. Each one also has a tiled bathroom with shower and tub. Guests can enjoy a Continental buffet in the armchair-filled lobby lounge. There’s also a charming mezzanine library with a multi-lingual selection of books and a terrace café serving coffee, tea and light snacks.
